Participated in a letter (with the Reporters Committee and other news media organizations) sent to U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr.  The letter proposes a Supreme Court rule addressing sealed court records, given a recent upsurge in sealing at the Court.  Such a rule, based on similar rules adopted by several federal circuit courts of appeals, would provide clear guidance to practitioners.  The letter states that confining secrecy at the Court to those cases in which it is absolutely necessary is consistent with the Court’s precedent on the First Amendment and common law rights of access to judicial proceedings and records.  [2019]
