In the first major policy speech of his chairmanship on July 2 in Sioux Falls, S.D., Brendan Carr laid out his “Build America Agenda” for the Federal Communications Commission…. Carr also detailed plans for modernizing FCC operations that will impact broadcasters alongside other industries. That includes the first votes in his ongoing “Delete, Delete, Delete” initiative (GN Docket No. 25-133), which seeks to identify outdated and overly burdensome regulations that should be repealed….

The specifics of which items will be earmarked for deletion have not yet been made public, but Carr said the first group of regulations targeted will delete 40 rules or requirements, spanning more than 17 pages and 7,600 words. “It’s hard to believe we still have regulations for telegraph, rabbit-ear broadcast receivers, and phone booths on our books.
