Efforts to keep AM radio in the dashboards of vehicles took a step forward in the House Sept. 18 as the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted 45 to 2 to send the proposed AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act (H.R. 8449) to the full House for a vote.
“It’s been a stalwart of American prosperity and information sharing,” said Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.). “Having AM radio available is important to my constituents,” he added, noting its role during emergencies.
