The Gore Commission is scheduled to transmit its final report to Vice President Gore on Friday, Dec. 18. The report will contain its recommendations on public interest obligations for digital TV broadcasters.

The Media Institute's Public Interest Council will present its reactions to the Gore Commission's recommendations at the press conference.

Presenters will include Prof. Laurence H. Winer, Arizona State University College of Law, and Robert M. O'Neil, University of Virginia Law School.

The Public Interest Council is a working group of attorneys and constitutional scholars following the activities of the Gore Commission. In the past year the Public Interest Council has released issue papers critical of the Gore Commission's approach to public interest and constitutional issues.
