Cochran, Dolan, to Receive Awards at The Media Institute Friends & Benefactors Awards Banquet

Washington, August 29, 2001 – Barbara Cochran and Charles Dolan have been selected as award recipients for The Media Institute’s annual Friends & Benefactors Awards Banquet.

Cochran, the president of the Radio-Television News Directors Association, will receive the Freedom of Speech Award, which is presented to an individual whose efforts have helped to advance freedom of expression. Dolan, chairman of Cablevision Systems Corporation, will be honored with the American Horizon Award, given annually to recognize leadership in promoting the vitality and independence of American media and communications.
