Description

Nickelodeon Online has a tremendous relationship with kids. We put kids first in everything we do and have an ongoing commitment to provide kids with a safe and entertaining online experience.
We have made it our mission to create the following privacy / safety measures and resources:
- Nickelodeon's Web site, Nick.com, was one of the first to use a bumper page to differentiate editorial content from advertising. This bumper page alerts kids that they are leaving the site and going to a promotional message. Additionally, the page includes revolving safety tips.
- Nickelodeon Online never collects personal information from kids for marketing purposes. In addition, when we sponsor a contest, we require kids to get their parents' consent through e-mail or a written form before they enter.
- Nickelodeon Online holds advertisers to very high standards and has created a separate site, Info.nick.com, for advertisers to better understand our guidelines. Nickelodeon's standards department reviews all prospective ad links for kid-appropriate content and safety precautions. Nick.com will not link with an advertiser who has a chat room unless the advertiser can prove that the room is monitored by an employee of the advertiser's company.
- Nickelodeon's "auditorium" chat events with celebrity guests on America Online are always real-time monitored by Nickelodeon operators. These operators also monitor our AOL bulletin boards.
- Nickelodeon Online is an advocate of Internet privacy and is a member of the Online Privacy Alliance, through our parent company Viacom.
