Technology Center Initiative: The League plans to build 114 Technology Education and Access Centers (TEACs) by the year 2006. The TEACs will be safe places for children and adults in low-income communities to develop marketable information technology skills.

Leadership Summit Policy Forum: Each year the Technology Programs and Policy office of the National Urban League will host a policy forum of national leaders to address critical Internet issues. In June 1998, the League launched the inaugural Urban Technology Summit at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Content was also carried on C-SPAN and the Internet.

"Cruise Control": In partnership with Ameritech, the League produced a CD-ROM for students in the Midwestern states. The CD-ROM explains the Internet and basic uses for students, parents, and teachers in public schools in the Midwest (unveiled
June 29, 1999).
