Radio and Television Public Service Announcements Available for Download
Arlington, Va., Oct. 13, 2006 - Radio and television broadcasters will have an opportunity to run public service announcements (PSAs) celebrating National Freedom of Speech Week Oct. 16 - 22, thanks to the efforts of Clear Channel Communications and the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation.
Clear Channel has produced a 30-second radio spot for the use of radio stations not owned by Clear Channel. The company has also prepared a spot tailored for Clear Channel stations, but wanted to make the free speech message available to the entire radio community.
The National Association of Broadcasters has produced television PSAs in addition to radio spots. The radio PSAs are available in 15- and 30-second lengths, in either English or Spanish. NABEF also prepared PSAs for last year's inaugural National Freedom of Speech Week.
"We are delighted that Clear Channel and NABEF are making PSAs available to broadcasters across the country," said Patrick D. Maines, president of The Media Institute. "We want to reach the widest possible audience with the message that free speech is 'the language of America,' and broadcasting is a great way to reach that audience."
Clear Channel and NABEF are both Partnering Organizations of National Freedom of Speech Week.
The Clear Channel radio spot can be downloaded from the National Freedom of Speech Week website at www.freespeechweek.org.
